Your Gemini Ex Doesn't Actually Suck, and Here's Why
Mythbusting what pop astrology gets wrong
Welcome to Gemini Season. ✨
The most social, curious, chaotic, and electric time of the astrological year is officially upon us.
Gemini is the sign of communication, learning, curiosity, and connection. Expect more social events, unexpected conversations, fascinating new people, and ideas that won't leave you alone at 2am. Even if you're not feeling particularly social right now (maybe you’re a Cancer rising and Gemini rules your 12th house of solitude), Gemini gives you a thirst for learning that will have you enraptured in a new subject, book, or hobby.
Uranus, the planet of innovation, disruption, and total rewiring, just entered Gemini for the first time since the 1940s, and it’s staying until 2033. Let that sink in. This isn’t just a seasonal shift. This is the beginning of a decade-long transformation of how we think, communicate, and understand reality. Use this Gemini season to start asking the big questions: Why do I think the way I do? Which thought patterns have I outgrown? What beliefs am I ready to let go of?
Gemini has always known what the neuroscientists are just catching up to: your thoughts shape your reality.
And, as you can probably tell from the title, Gemini has a reputation problem. If you’ve spent any time on AstrologyTok, you’re privy to the collective narrative that Gemini’s are two-faced. We often hear things like: Geminis are liars. Geminis are cheaters. Never trust a Gemini. And for the love of god, never ever date a Gemini man.
But we’re not doing this anymore.
In the spirit of this Gemini season of curiosity, openness, and a willingness to hold two truths at once, Michelle, our Head of Astrology, is shutting down the most tired myths in astrology. All of them, once and for all.
Yes, we are absolutely holding space for your Gemini ex. 💀
Mythbusting Your Thoughts on Astrology
By expert astrologer, Michelle Grodnick
Geminis are liars
This idea comes from the fact that Gemini, unlike most people, can hold two opposing truths at once. The overwhelming narrative among society thrives on polarization and extremism– the worst thing you can be found out to be is a hypocrite. Unfortunately, this doesn’t reflect the truth of the world, which is that two differing opinions can both be true. The beauty of Gemini is that it can see both sides of a situation and acknowledge both as the truth. This isn’t lying, it’s simply what’s real.
Virgos don't have fun
Virgos are actually the funniest sign in the zodiac. Because Virgos are master communicators and can point out the most specific and random details, they make the most hilarious comedians. Just ask Amy Poehler, Dave Chappelle, Molly Shannon, Adam Sandler, or John Mulaney (all Virgo comedians).
Also, you know what genuinely isn't fun? Showing up to the airport with an expired passport. Ruining a surprise party because you were late. Waking up with a violent hangover because you forgot to drink water. Virgo would never. Turns out, being organized is actually a great time.
Scorpios are toxic
Scorpio has a primal, non-negotiable need for emotional safety. Your Scorpio ex isn’t toxic, you probably just can’t properly express your emotions in an open and honest way. Sorry, not sorry! If you’re being clear about how you feel and your actions match your words, Scorpio will welcome you with open arms and deep emotional honesty. Scorpios will be the most loyal and committed partners because their empathy runs deeper than you’ll ever know.
Tauruses are lazy
This one is pure capitalist propaganda and we’re calling it out. The idea that Taurus is lazy comes from a deeply embedded cultural lie: that rest isn’t productive, that pleasure isn’t necessary, that our worth is measured by our output. Taurus rejects this completely, and they’re right to.
Taurus understands that rest is productivity. That knowing your limits isn’t weakness, it’s wisdom. That a life without pleasure isn’t actually a life worth living. Pleasure is essential to our core being and is the reason we work so hard. Taurus is incredibly sensual, so there is a deeper connection to not only the physical body but also the natural environment around us. Taurus doesn’t burn out because it refuses to participate in the cycle that burns everyone else out.
Taurus isn’t lazy. Taurus is liberated. Being > Doing, always.
Leos are narcissists
This may be controversial, but I actually think people don’t support themselves enough. Most people spend their lives performing for others. Gearing every decision toward what they think is expected of them. Waking up unfulfilled because they never stopped to ask: what do I actually want?
Leo knows what it wants. Leo is confident and authentic. Leo knows that when we back our own needs, we help others do the same. We need to learn to ask for what we need. To stop comparing ourselves to everyone else and remember our true inner worth. It’s time to stop operating on what society wants from you and start moving from your own heart. It’s not narcissism. It’s remembering who the f** you are.
Aquariuses are stone cold
Astrologer & therapist Mark Jones speaks on this in his book, The Soul Speaks, and it’s enlightening about what’s really going on underneath the cool exterior of Aquarius. To paraphrase, he says how Aquarius has an impersonal quality because it doesn’t see life from the perspective of the ego, but sees life as an infinite field of potential. Aquarius is living in an expansive world of possibilities, an existence bigger than the mundane to-dos of daily life. For that reason, they actually live in a space of more gratitude as they see the bigger picture of the infinite love that surrounds them. They don’t want life’s small problems bursting that bubble.

Practitioner Spotlight
Every week, we spotlight incredible spiritual practitioners, and we’re so excited to introduce you to holistic career coach and Reiki Master, Lynn Mull!
Lora: Tell us a bit about you and your practice.
Lynn: I’m a holistic career coach and energy healer, where I combine intuition, clairvoyance, and oracle cards to move women from stuck to clear. After over 2 decades on Wall Street, I believe there is another way to find alignment. I’ve trained with the best Reiki Master teachers and been able to blend my love of learning, IFS (Internal Family Systems), with my intuitive gifts.
My mantra is “Living in the &” to move out of extremes and into your own knowing, somewhere in the middle of black or white. My husband and I, after years in SF and NYC, reside in a Philadelphia suburb.
Lora: What moment or realization made your practice “click” for you in a real, lived way?
Lynn: I’ve had many readings, for myself, on streets in Miami and NYC, at events, with friends, on Zoom, and before that, calls that were recorded. They were born out of curiosity.
When I reached Covid, I needed Oracle Cards to help ground the chaos, work stress, and family homeschooling. They truly helped me reset my mind daily.
I worked on Wall Street for over 2 decades, where gut feeling was discussed but rarely acknowledged. Now, having been a career coach for a decade, I know there are layers for healing.
When my clients are unable to visualize or find an inner knowing, cards always help them find something to unhook what is stuck.
Lora: What’s a recurring life theme you see in your readings right now (love, career pivots, endings, rebirth, boundaries), and how do you help people work with it instead of resisting it?
Lynn: Seasons shift in life and with Mother Nature. Much of it aligns with my clients. In relationships, deeper conversations are occurring, opening up their world for connection. Working through self-doubt is a common theme, but it has been lessening as the planets find a new pathway.
I center my work on moon phases, which remind us to not stay in one spot for long. The moon changes to the human eye every 2.25 days!
Lora: When someone is trying to understand their career life or work/ purpose more deeply, where do you guide them to look first? What parts of the chart, energy, or inner patterns tend to reveal the most?
Lynn: Energy of the career is masculine, the right side of the body. I focus on macro and micro chakras to unearth the need to hustle. Then I focus on blocks on the left, the feminine, lunar side of the energy field. The magic of energy is it is always around, can be sensed when quiet, and shifted if someone is ready for transitions and transformation.
I love working with career shifts as someone who spent a lifetime in a toxic workplace and also had health struggles as I entered entrepreneurship.
In longer sessions, I do a 3-card pull, mind, body, spirit, to enhance the way in which we want to show up in the world.
Lora: What are your favorite decks + resources that you think people should know about?
Lynn: I love anything by Kim Krans! I wrote and use (daily) The 24 Oracle Deck for myself and with clients. I love my Egyptian pendulum from Element 50 in Connecticut (or online) and my crystals from Open Eye Crystals in LA (or online).

The Big Build: How We’re Creating Lora
We’ve been busy building out the first version of our product, entirely on Discord!
We decided to house part of our alpha testing experience on Discord for ease of use, and to truly allow our first testers to ask Lora…anything. Lora has been trained extensively by expert astrologer, and our Head of Astrology, Michelle Grodnick, and the feedback we have received so far has been incredible!
If you’re interested in being one of the first people to test and help shape what we are building at Lora, we just opened up slots for our next batch of alpha testers! Please fill out this form here, and we will get you set up ASAP!
We’ve also been getting tons of love on our new interactive birth chart generator! We realized that many apps and birth chart generators aren’t making birth charts digestible. Unless you are an expert astrologer, it’s pretty difficult to understand all of those planets, degrees, and placements, etc.
So we set out to create the first interactive birth chart. One that lets you click around and explore each placement one-by-one to better understand your chart at its core.
You can check it out here - let us know what you think! You might even just see this in the Lora app very soon 👀
Thanks for tuning into our little world. See you next week, and happy Gemini season to all who celebrate!

uUUuuuh an interactive birth chart ~
